So. It turned out to be a short 2 days trip. The build up to the track was rather packed with travelling and improper rest. It was rather self torturing and now that we've gone for it, we realised that we should be able to organise something better than that. Haha. Though I'm doubtful that I'll be able to join in for the next trip, which might be tioman. :/
So, we slept on the bus for like 3 hours from jb to seranbum. Then we napped on the horrible seats at the terminal for another 2 hours. When this stall at the terminal was ready to do business, we went to grab our breakfast. there was 3 options: toast, fried rice or fried bee hoon (aka mee siam). i went for bee hoon, at first those that didn't order toast thought that we made the right choice cause initially the toast order seemed like there was only 1 bread per pax. then when the fried rice and mee siam was served, we had a hard time eating because it was extremely spicy. :X while we were trying to finish it, more toasts were served, and eventually half boiled eggs were served too. so actually, the toast isn't that bad of a deal. haha. my mee siam was so spicy i didn't bother finishing the plate, i didn't want to deal with stomach upset while trekking. and i had to repeatedly wipe the chilli oil off my lips as it caused a burning feeling.
when we were done, we cabbed to the chalet (which was at the entrance of the trek). we were split up for the cab, for mine, when we got on we asked how long would the journey be. the driver said 1hr, which made us happy thinking that we could catch more rest. 15mins into the ride, we were ready to nap, the taxi stopped. totally made us happy for nothing man. the driver's estimation epic fail.
after that was just getting to the chalet, placing our big bag down, waiting to start the trek.
the trek started rather late. it was around 9.30 i believe, it was on schedule though. so we had to trek to the foot of the mountain first. take almost the same time as trekking the mountain would. the first path we took to get to the foot, had a fall tree. so we had to use the alternative path. there was a scarce at first cause when the fore guide saw the blocked path and told us to reverse, we thought that that was it. need not trek anymore. hahaha. [I am going to be super brief with the trek portion cause there really isn't so much details to be shared].
when we got to the foot, we had to cross the river, prob between 2-3m wide. i was lucky that the distance between most were reachable and i didn't slip into the river.
from there onwards, it did get more challenging. and you can't really just appreciate the surrounding nature because the steps are uneven. i tried looking around and moving, but DON'T do that. haha. i didn't fall or anything though. so it gets boring cause 80% of the time you are looking at the ground. plus the vegetation is very dense, so while trekking, its not like you get to see nice views from time to time.
this is why company becomes VERY IMPORTANT. the presence of the boys made the trek a lot more entertaining because they had the stamina to trek and still talk on and on. even though it wasn't as if all 7 of us were moving one after the other through out, but the even with a few people apart, you can still hear them. haha. though most of the things that they were saying or making comments of were annoying, they were still crucial. :P
at one point in time while going up, i started to slow down a lot, felt like my body was on the brink already. i'm thankful for the mentos (J's) and the caramel biscuits (HY's). i believe without them i would have felt even worse.
there was this part of the trek when you had to climb this boulder, there was rope that you could pull on, so it's not impossible to get over. it was kind of fun. :P
there after, we almost had to give up because the path ahead was blocked due to the landslide the night before. we managed to find an alternative path though!
either way, we continued upwards for quite awhile before the organiser decided that by the time we do submit, then head back down, it will be dark before we do get out. AKA. we did not submit.
HAHAHAHAHA. oh wells. it did not bother me all that much frankly.
i really had a good time simply because of the company that i went with. we grabbed a bit when we got back to the boulder. so thankful we finally could fill our stomachs for a bit.
when we came back down and had to cross the river again. i fell into the water. ): and i was kind of hopping to the next stone when i fell so i had blue blacks! also i slipped on this leaf while coming down too. when we were coming down, there were certain parts of the path that were rather dark cause of the dense vegetation. so, really safety was more important, no fuss about not submitting.
i only found out that i did get a leech bite when i was bathing. (and it had germs or something! cause i had bad skin from the day after i returned. like weird reactions on my arm and legs especially. with slight reactions on other parts too. aishh)
[lol I'm taking forever on this post. More than a week already I think]
So we played cards for quite a while post trek post dinner and while taking turns to bathe. Haha. It's nice playing cards again. :D though aish, idk why, from there on till the trip ended, tongue slipped a bit and ... Well, gave them the chance to crack a few more laughs.
We turned in early and that's a good decision. HAHA. We WERE drained.
The next day, got up, to our horror, didn't really have enough bread for breakfast (we threw away like a normal loaf size the evening before) so, incomplete breakfast.
Got to kl and J went to shop first, the rest weren't vain or didn't find anything that they really wanted to bring home. Then we went around looking for a place for lunch! It was a really good meal though the jap food was horrible. HAHAHA. Cause it was overfilled with our attacks on the sub-par standard of the food we had. The only thing that was decent was their matcha ice cream apparently. Haha. After that we went for baskin robbins! :D got the cheap auntie anne's pretzel too! Then, we headed to borders and hanged around. J, XQ & HY window shopped more before leaving the building. The 4 of us grabbed subway and since there wasn't proper mode of communication we bo-jio the 3 of them and I actually feel kind of bad cause for a long duration food wasn't exactly available.
Anyway transport from kl to sg had the little bit of fun too! We had to take MRT-like train, and we needed to do a transfer to another line and a change of train cause the route has a split way(not sure if I'm using the right terminology). Anyway, the fun came cause we did not pay special attention to the split way and miss the station where had to get off and change. Hence we were a few stops nearer the wrong direction. Thankfully, we managed to change and make it to the bus interchange in time for our coach to jb. Oh and there was this time when we had all gotten off and HY almost didn't make it. 'Thankfully' the door couldn't close properly and it reopened by default. Haha. When we were on the coach, after the sky got dark, S noticed the starry sky. And we realised that we missed the opportunity to star gaze the night before! ):
After that was just nothing much. To jb terminal, some had meal at macs, go on 170, and we were back in Singapore.
Before we knew it. It was time to separate. I had a fantastic time.
I hope that no matter how the our journey ahead shapes us into, when we are together, it'll be as if time stood still since the JC days. Really, guys, your comments/remarks/whatever, might not be anywhere near words sweet as honey to pooh, but I think they helped very much in letting us still behave like how were during cca days. (((:
很想期待接下来的见面,但也意味着离别即将来临。所谓相聚会是幸福的,只因寂寞是难耐的。
为了重逢的美好。。。我会好好的!
