The Events (i got to see)!

Right. Am here to finally share about the 2 events that I got to helped out at! (:

the first was the wedding reception. it was pretty amazing experience. seeing the equipments used to ensure the deliverance of the food. we had a work station up and running! getting involved with the putting together of canapés (which i was helping to prepare the separate ingredients 2 days earlier). need to be quick yet calm with the preparation and handling of things. it was really fun cause there were waiters and waitresses hired for the event and we belonged to the same age group. having people to chit chat with. HAHA. sound so living-in-the-rock. but its nice to know new people despite the fact that i have no idea if i will ever see them again. everyone were very nice and cordial (:

plus getting to eat the extra canapés. :P basically the thing about going outdoors is to have prepared food packed neatly, good for on-the-go. since canapés are like bite sized food served on a table-spoon sized spoon, various prepared food will only be pieced together at the event! basically there's 2-4 separate food items. 1 main, 1 side and/or sauce garnish and/or her garnish put together gives you a canapé! haha. there were sweets available around of course. the decorated ones were very pretty! haha. sorry that i don't have photos to share though! too busy to take photos. got to taste some too! :D

getting free canapés and sweets to eat is a very attractive benefit. :P

oh and regarding the wedding, the reception a pretty high-end place was where the couple met. one of the chef made a joke telling the ladies, now you know where you should go to find yourself a rich husband. HAHA.

really appreciated the chance to know how to cater for an event on the day itself.

the second one i went to was the new season showcase for LV. so atas so cool. haha. got to see the models backstage. was quite taken aback by the standard proportion. HAHA. it was a fun experience! plus the dishes for the day was lesser, though we had to serve drinks! i got to do a little serving that day. was TOTALLY unexpected though. i realised i might not have smiled as much as i needed to. thankfully i only did in the first session. must have looked unfriendly. *yikes* got to learn how to pour champagne out of the bottle. HAHA. the event had 2 sessions so in between we got to chill! and the serving was a short time only. so the day was generally not as stressful i feel.

though it was at first cause i was the earliest to arrive and the chefs with the food and drinks were late. so like the staff kept asking when will they reach. it was really cram at first cause of the things LV had all around. we cleared up and made space and moving around was much more easier! haha.

towards the end of the event, we were running out of juice, so i went to buy since i need not serve. but i seem to naturally repel notes and the pants that i was wearing that day dislike notes too. so i LOST THE CHANGE. i was given a blue note for 3 cartons of juice. you can go figure how much i donated to the streets (aka a lucky passerby) that evening. serious loss. ): made me really sad. i wonder when will i stop losing money... either way had an eye opening time! (: met new waiter and waitress that day too!

oh yeah. the restroom didn't have paper towels for people to dry their hands after washing so we were offering our kitchen rolls to the guests. HAHA. many were pretty shocked where they came to the back. since it was still cram and packed. :P

that's all for the 2 events that i been to. hope it's a good read!
